Hmmmm, is it Spring yet?????
It’s been a fairly mild winter for us here on the Southern Oregon Coast, but I know that other parts of the country have had a pretty wild ride. But spring is on the horizon, the lambs are skipping in the fields, and a few more quilting projects are in the works before I hit the garden for the summer.
Easter is coming early again this year, although it’s a little later than last year. We will be celebrating Easter with a fun prize give away again this year. On Saturday, March 31st, when you spend $25 or more, you will get to select a prize egg from our special Easter Egg basket. Each egg contains either a prize you win for free or a percent discount on the highest priced item you’re purchasing. Prizes range from magnetic bookmarks to one yard of fabric, so we’ll be giving away lots of fun things.
In April, we will be holding a Customer Appreciation Tea (this will replace our annual Mother’s Day Tea). On April 29th from 1:30 to 3:30, join us for lots of tea party goodies like cucumber sandwiches and lemon cookies along with hot tea all served on crystal dishes. We have hosted several of these parties in the past which are lots of fun and a great opportunity to meet some new quilting friends. The event is free but space is limited, so please register with the shop to reserve your space.
In May, I’ll be heading up to Portland for International Quilt Market. This is where I usually find some great new products and ideas that I won’t be able to wait and share with everyone. I had to miss it last year, so I really can’t wait to see all the new stuff plus some of the stuff I might have missed last year. Some of it will come back with me, some of it will have to wait until it is shipped. But for the most part, just after Memorial Day, keep an eye out for weekly arrivals of these fun new products.
Upcoming Quilt Shows It’s time for the start of quilt show season again. I’m starting off my year with the Umpqua Valley Quilter’s Guild show at the fairgrounds in Roseburg April 20th - 22nd. Every year I’m amazed at how many people from the coast attend this show. It’s well worth the drive over to see the large number of quilts on display or to take one of their classes.
Then I’m off to Grants Pass to their fairgrounds for their annual show May 11th and 12th just before Mother’s Day, hosted by Piecemakers. Another great opportunity to see some wonderful quilts.
Then we have the Azalea Quilter’s show at the Kalmiopsis Elementary School May 26th and 27th. I will not be at this show this year due to scheduling conflict, but this is always a fun one and gives you a chance to enjoy all the festivities going on Memorial weekend in Brookings too.
Then looking ahead, save the date for the biannual show put on by Mountain Stars Quilter’s Guild in Medford at the Armory June 29th and 30th. This show is only every other year, so you don’t want to miss it!
Other Important Items We will be closed Easter Sunday, April 1st and Sunday, May 13th for Mother’s Day. Please don’t forget that we’ve changed our regular store hours to Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sundays to 12 pm to 4 pm. Our online store is always open at www.forget-me-knots.net.
We’re doing Row by Row again this year. Sew Muscial is the theme. Look for our pattern in June! License plates available soon including new mini size.
